    La Tour est magnifique

Never in my life have I seen something so delicate seeming, yet so massive as La Tour Eiffel.
To think it was originally made for almost no practical purpose, yet it fills such a psychological one for those who experience it.

Gustave Eiffel is my kind of man. He was a dreamer, and never let setbacks or naysayers ruin his dreams. Most of all, he literally lived at a pinnacle of his career, atop “La Tour”.

As designers, we all try very hard to hide seams, but sometimes seams can be beautiful. The searchlight atop La Tour is not one, but four searchlights, each taking their turn, relay-style in a circumference around Paris. They can be seen overhead from as far as Hôtel de Ville, and beyond. Here is the hand-off of light, over Le Marais:

I agree about the seams, just as I believe it is more interesting to see the process of work contained in a piece, of any kind, rather than simply appearing as if it sprung forth from the ether fully formed.
    Looking forward to more posts.
